Description

SkrynKoop captures screens and saves them to image files.

SkrynKoop saves the screen as a file on mouse click and on keys ENTER and c. You can change the appearance of SkrynKoop easily to make it look like a desktop icon.

Once started SkrynKoop is waitng for a click or a key.
When SkrynKoop is not active, then you see

The right mouse button activates SkrynKoop.

The left mouse button, key ENTER, and key c save the screen to a file.

Key k shows key usage.

Key o opens the directory for the files.
 

First Start

When you start SkrynKoop the first time after install and there is no file SkrynKoop.rv, then the help window appears in the screen center and the main window appears above it.

You can drag the window to any position you like.

Click the right mouse button to activate it.
Click the left mouse button to save a screen in a file.

Saving Image Files

By default the files are saved in the directory SkrynKoop below the user's home directory. Each filename contains the time of capturing and is built like
scrYYYYMMDDohhmmssonnn.jpg with
YYYY for the year,
MM for the month,
DD for the day in the month,
hh for the hour,
mm for the minutes,
ss for the seconds, and
nnn for the milliseconds.

The default file type is JPEG (*.jpg).

To change the image file type or directory please use key v.
Image file types jpg, png, gif, and bmp are accepted.

Arguments for the screen area

left=<left> with <left> being a whole number for the left top corner of the screen area,
top=<top> with <top> being a whole number for the left top corner of the screen area,
width=<width> with <width> being a whole number for the width of the screen area, and
height=<height> with <height> being a whole number for the height of the screen area.

Argument for saving

 p=<path> with <path> being the path or directory to save the captured screen as image file.

File for Settings

A file for settings is created automatically. Its name is SkrynKoop.rv. It is saved in directory SkrynKoop below the user's home directory.
Three values are saved:

  • the bounds of the SkrynKoop window
  • the directory name
  • the image file type.
SkrynKoop looks for file SkrynKoop.rv and reads it, if it exists.

f - flatter - changing size
h - show help text
k - show key usage
n - narrower - changing size
o - open directory for screen copies
q - quit - exit app
t - taller - changing size
v - edit run values / settings
w - wider - changing size
+ - bigger - changing size
- - smaller - changing size
